Honeymoon(s)

Honeymoon #1:

After the wedding we couldn't take a long honeymoon because Josh had just started a new job. So we took off for a long weekend to Pigeon Forge, TN. It was very pretty there, but rainy the whole time. And we ended up having to find a Dr. because Josh ended up with a fever and a bad sinus infection. Poor guy. Nonetheless, we had a good time. Our cabin was perfect, and we would love to have one for ourselves here at home.

Honeymoon #2

We were able to take time over Christmas break and have our 'official' honeymoon. We chose Nassau, Bahamas. Neither of us had been there, and we were excited about the warm weather! We stayed at the Sandals Resort, where there are no children allowed. We're not against kids, we would just rather not go on out honeymoon with a bunch of kids running around.

The resort was very nice and we had a relaxing time. We even went scuba diving, and now I can't wait to do it again. I thought I might freak out being underwater and trying to breath through a tube, but it was so easy! We both really liked it!

We did several things: scuba diving, as I mentioned, toured the Atlantis Resort, spent a day on Rose Island (very beautiful with very few people), relaxed by the pool, and enjoyed a seafood buffet and fireworks on New Year's Eve.

All in all, our trip was great: great food, great weather, great time together!

New Beginnings

2009 was a great year!

May 5, 2009 Josh proposed! It was so unexpected, which I loved, and only the beginning of great things to come.

We set the date for September 19, only four months away! There was so much to do and I am the world's biggest procrastinator! First on the list was to get a dress. I tried on so many, and there were so many to choose from. I had lots of help though. My mom and sisters, future mother- and sister-in-law, and bridesmaid came with me. We all had fun and all found dresses that day (well, everyone except the mom's).

Next was to meet with the wedding planner. Mom insisted we needed her. I agree now. She did an amazing job with everything!

We got married in the church we were attending and had an outside reception on the hill behind the church. The weather was beautiful. I couldn't ask for a better day. All our friends and family shared our special day and we had an amazing time!

I love this picture of our flower girl! She is so funny!

2010

So, for the new year I'm going to attempt to regularly post blogs. Yay me! I thought it was a good idea over a year ago to start blogging, but that didn't work out very well. But I'm going to try again. Here it goes...
